Byron has some of the best beaches to surf and swim in the world. There are many options located north and south of the lighthouse which make it such a popular destination.
Driving into Byron can take anywhere between 15 minutes or longer depending on peak holiday periods and traffic. During these times, we always try to get to the beach a little earlier than we would normally (before 9am).
On your way into town stop for breakfast, coffee or a pastry at The Farm.
Take your time to enjoy sunrises at Belongil beach or sunsets at Wategos. And of course, spend an hour or so enjoying the lighthouse walk which you can start from Main Beach, Clarkes Beach, Captain Cook's lookout, The Pass or Wategos,.
Our favourite places to eat:
The Mez Club (go early for a drink if nothing else)
Rae's (also try the Cellar Door for daytime drop-in drinks/food)
Bang Bang
Kouzina (Greek)
Barrio
The Loft
Cypress Tree (Mediterranean)
The Tree House
The Balcony
Yulli's
Wok this Way
A drink at the iconic Beach Hotel is a must.
And check out the stores at the Habitat Precinct in the Byron Industrial Estate.

There are a couple of good retail stores here too that definitely make this spot one to add to your itinerary.
