In this experience, we will dive into the Japanese art of kokedamas. We will first talk about the fascinating history of this old art form, as well as how it is related to Japanese customs and the philosophy of wabi sabi. Then, I will show you how to make your first kokedama. Making kokedamas involves turning peat moss into a soil ball and then wrapping it in sheet moss to create a self sustaining pot to hold your plant. Each person will have their own station to create TWO kokedamas, that will eventually be taken home. This is perfect for those who are looking for a romantic and unique date or an enjoyable time spent with a family member learning a new trade. We have hosted many birthday and bachelorette parties, if you are looking for a special way to celebrate in nature. We are also perfect for group team building if you'd like to do a private corporate/business class. Come prepared to get your hands dirty!

Working with clay is mesmerizing - and challenging. After a tour of the studio, guests will don aprons and sit down at their own wheel to "throw" up to 5 pieces. We work "hands-on," with each person to insure that you make at least 1 or 2 beautiful vessels. If you decide that you want to "finish" your pieces, there are 4 more steps: trimming, bisqueing, glaze and high-firing. The process takes about a month, and a second visit is essential if you want to glaze your finished product. This price is the same for a glazing class, if you'd like to come back within 3 months, or you may select your colors (from more than 40 finishes) and we'll glaze for you. After that, we can ship your pottery anywhere in the country. You can also choose to have a hand building class where molds are provided for plates, platters and bowls. If you are interested in having a party of 6 or more I can accommodate and have a hand building party. AS A SAFETY MEASURE, MY POTTERY WORKSHOPS IS LIMITED TO 2 PEOPLE. Wheels are placed far apart and masks are not required. Our studio is "open-air" so dress appropriately.

This is an urban fishing experience right in the middle of the concrete jungle. Offering a unique experience most locals haven’t even experienced. Be prepared to have fun, be outdoors, and hopefully catch a fish! You will need to purchase a fishing license if you are 16yrs or older! I will provide all necessary materials. Fishing rods, bait, and any necessary tackle. This is a 2 hour trip. Given that it’s all up to the fish, there is no guarantee what fish, or how many we will catch! I can promise one thing. You will have a great time! You will learn a lot about yourself and your party. Fishing offers a great opportunity for conversation, relaxation, and reflection. Also, how crazy will it be to go home and tell your friends about the fish you caught in the middle of LA! This experience is advertised for echo park but if you have a requests for a different pond we can try that!

We will travel to several coffee shops located in the DTLA area. During this Coffee journey we will experience Coffee trivia, taste some delicious coffee and get a brief history of the neighborhood we are walking through. My experience is unique because I have 13 years of experience in the Coffee Industry and I have solid network of people in the Industry to give people the ultimate tour to remember.

Enjoy the gorgeous coastline of Newport Beach, CA in an adventurous new way by joining me to explore local kelp forests and encounter the animals that call it home! This is a unique and exciting activity that will expand your mind by exposing you to the diverse ecosystem waiting for you under the sea. We will commonly encounter great schools of Sargo moving in unison, Kelp Bass eyeing us uneasily from the shadows of the kelp forest and Sheepshead overseeing their harems. Also, we may be joined by playful harbor seals who are endlessly curious about our presence in their environment. We will meet at the top of the hill, select each participant's equipment and then gear up on the beach to swim out to the kelp forest. After our adventure, we will have an opportunity to prepare our catch as maki sushi, aguachile and uni sashimi using the sea urchins’ caviar while we relish the ocean's bounty at the shoreline. Our lessons are 2 hours long . the first thing you do is get in a wetsuit on location then we start our clients out with a 15 minute sand demo teaching you the basics of surfing: how to pop up and paddle, we will give you the tools needed to surf(: and go over safety. For the rest of the lesson you will be catching waves and doing what you learned on the sand demo and translating it in the water! (We pride our selves at Bluewatersurf on giving the best lessons out there in Orange County All of our equipment is provided by a local surf shop and is top of the line, our wetsuits will keep you warm and toasty out there, and our boards are great for begginers and easily ridable! Another thing we pride our self on is our instructors! They are all avid surfers who make our teaching methods, surfing classes, and youre safety our number one priority. Along the way I will give information on the flora and fauna, history of the land from thousands of years ago up to today, and give optional invitations for meditation. We will meet at a trailhead and head off into the wilderness for a 2 hour hiking adventure.
