Site of Special Scientific interest. Home to 85% of the UK's Snakeshead Fritillaries. Also home to deer, badgers, foxes and other wildlife. Or simply a nice place to go for a walk in the sunshine.

Cricklade North meadow is an old hay meadow which is now part of the National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is most famous for it snakes head fritillaries which come out in late Spring leaving the field sprinkled with beautiful colours. The meadow is now owned by Natural England who arrange guided walks around the meadow at weekends when the Fritillaries are in flower.

Well worth a visit in spring. check out www.crickladecourtleet.org.uk/north-meadow for details of when the rare Snakeshead Fritillary flowers are in bloom (late Spring). A nice place for a walk beside the start of the River Thames which eventually flows to London at most other times of the year (except when the river is in flood).
